Questions
The practical ones.
The 14 days page covers whether this is right for you. This one covers what actually happens once you have decided it might be.
Before you come in.
Do I need to know how to lift weights?
No. That is what I am for.
Every rep you do here is coached. I show you the movement, you try it, and I adjust it while you are doing it. Nobody is handed a program and left to work it out from a diagram on the wall.
Plenty of women start here having never picked up a weight in their lives. It is a completely normal place to start.
What is the form that arrives before my first session?
A short one, by email. It asks about your history, anything you are dealing with, and what you are hoping to get back.
You fill it in at home, in your own time, with nobody waiting on you. That way your first session starts with you rather than with paperwork on a clipboard.
How often should I come during the fortnight?
Three times a week is what I recommend. That is enough to feel the difference rather than just see the place.
You can come more often than that if you want to. There is no cap on it. The one thing I ask is that you tell me, so I can adjust what is in your program and manage how much load you are carrying across the week.
Injuries, and the rest of your health.
I have an old injury. When do I tell you about it?
Twice. Once on the form before you come in, and once out loud in your first session, because things come back to you when somebody actually asks properly.
Nothing you tell me makes you a difficult case. It is the information I need to write you a program that works around it instead of into it.
I am already seeing a physio or a chiro. Does that change anything?
No, and please keep going.
I work alongside them, not instead of them. When something is outside what I do, I say so and I send you to somebody who does it. That has happened plenty of times and it is how it should work.
What if something hurts partway through a session?
You tell me, right then, and we change it.
Not at the end of the set, and not in the car on the way home. The moment something feels wrong, say so. There is no version of this where pushing through it quietly is the right call.
I am watching you move the whole time, so quite often I will get to it first. Either way, we swap the movement and keep going.
Who is actually in the room.
Am I going to be the oldest one there?
Almost certainly not.
Catherine is in her seventies and trains here every week. Gabi started at sixty two. Lynda started at sixty two. Leanne was fifty eight.
The women here are mostly somewhere between their forties and their seventies, and none of them arrived fit. That is the part worth hearing. They all started exactly where they were.
Fourteen days of training with Lachlan, at no cost to you.
Everything the fortnight involves is on the 14 days page.
